HCl is brought from an outside source in bulk containers (Trailer) gets offloaded to our bulk tank which is where it is stored for future use.  The material gets transported into the building from the outside tank by pipeline.  The material is used to fill containers of two types:  1-gallon polyethylene bottles and bulk containers (Modular Chemical Vessels 100 and 200 gal).  After the containers are filled, a sample is analyzed for purity and the material sent to the customer or placed in the warehouse for storage.  The HCl tank sits in contaiment area that will hold all of the contents of the tank.  A valve that is normally closed, can allow the containment area to be drained into a trench which is adjacent to the containment area and can also hold all of the contents of the tank.  The trench can then be pumped into a neutralization system.
