Nekoma Farmers Coop Elevator Co. is farmer owned grain elevator cooperative located in Nekoma, North Dakota dealing with agricutural commodities and agricultural inputs including anhydrous ammonia.  It is the policy of Nekoma Farmers Coop. to handle this substance according to state, local, and federal safety regulations and laws. 
 
Nekoma Farmers Coop Elevator has never had an accidental release of anhydrous ammonia.  However, accidents such as a hose break or tank rupture can happen at any ammonia facility.  Nekoma Farmers Coop. has planned for and have coordinated with local emergency responders to adequetely respond to all accidental releases that we forsee could happen at our facility from a simple hose break to the release of the entire contents of our largest storage tank. 
 
Nekoma Farmers Coop Elevator wants to assure the public that the use of anhydrous ammonia is safe.  We have extensive maintenance, inspection, and safety training programs in place.  Our employees are trained  
annually on safe handling procedures and these procedures are updated regularly or as needed.  We are constantly on the lookout for ways to improve our transfer and storage process, any method or equipment changes are implemented as soon as they become available. 
 
Our company annually spends a great deal of time, money, and resources to insure that this substance is handled in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
