Accidental release prevention and emergency response policies.This facility complies with  state and federal regulations relating to storage of anhydrous ammonia. If an emergency were to occurr, it is our policy to notify the Region 3 Emergency Planning District and ask that they respond. Description of facility and regulated substance. This facility is a farm supply cooperative. The anhydrous ammonia is used by farm producers as plant food for corn production. It is stored in two 12,000 gallon storage tanks and in 1000 gallon mobile nurse tanks for farm use. 
 
Worse-case release scenario. Our worst case scenario is one 12,000 tank filled to 85% releasing anhydrous ammonia through a failure of the tank. According to the EPA look up tables the area affected is an urban area 2.8 miles in distance from our faci 
lity. The population affected is 268 from census data. 
 
General accidental release prevention program and anhydrous ammonia prevention steps. This facility complies with state and local regulations. The plant is inspected by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Farmland Insurance on an annual basis. The tanks are maintained by CEA personel. 
 
Five-year accident history. We have never had an accident involving ammonia that caused deaths or injuries, property or environmental damage, evacuations or shelterings in place. 
 
Emergency Response Program. In the event of an emergency involving our anhydrous ammmonia system, it is our policy to notify the Region 3 Planning District and request they respond to the emergency.
