The RMP at this facility involves a written emergency plan, coordination with the Hopkins County Office of Emergency Response and Sulphur Springs Fire Department. A written PSM is being developed. The worst case scenario assumes that the entire charge of ammonia is lost from the system at the main facility. Given the assumption of a 10 minute release, generally flat terrain, wind speed of 3.4 mph and relatively stable atmospheric conditions, the downwind distance to the ERPG2 of 200 ppm is 2.6 miles. Such is release is highly unlikely except if a tornado was to hit the facility. The Alternative Scenario is more reasonable. This assumes that 0.75 inch pipe breaks and the the release is interrupted by closing the King Valve after 20 minutes.
