This program is written on compliance with the Clean AIr Act Amendments of 1990 Section 301 and 304. The purpose of this rule is to prevent, or minimize, the consequences of catastrophic releases of toxic, flammable, or explosive chemicals. The Risk Management Program applies to a closed circuit refrigeration system utilizing ammonia as the refrigerant. It contains guidelines in preventing and detecting unwanted releases of ammonia and the emergency response to it. These guidelines are subject to modification and improvememt in response to current practices in the industry. |
