Scrib's Fertilizer & Chemical is an agricultural related retail business which specializes in the sale of fertilizer and chemical for area crop producers. This anhydrous ammonia facility consists of two 12000 gallon bulk storage tanks with a total capacity of 105000 lbs. The plant storage tanks are designed and maintained in accordance with all local, state, and federal rules and regulations. Our employees attend regular NH3 training schools on a regular basis and learn safety information, hazards, operating procedures and maintenance. Worst case scenario would release 53000 lbs with a distance to end point of 1/63 miles and would effect approximately 1250 citizens of Caldwell, Kansas. Our emergency response plan is cooridinated with the Caldwell Fire Dept and thay have agreed to be our first responder in the event of an emergency.
