Executive Summary - North Central Cooperative - Woden Facility Accidental Release Prevention and Emergency Response Policies: This facility complies with regulated anhydrous ammonia storage requirements and it is our policy to adhere to all federal, state and local laws. If an emergency were to occur it is our policy to notify the Woden Fire Department and request that they respond to the emergency. Description of Facility: This facility is a retail farm supplier. We sell anhydrous ammonia to farmers for the purpose of crop production. On site we have a 30,000 gallon storage tank and an 18000 gallon storage tank. These tanks are filled to a maximum of 85% capacity to allow for product expansion. Worst Case Release Scenario: Our worst case scenario is a gas release from one of the storage tanks. According to EPA's RMP Comp the distance to endpoint is 3.20 miles. There are residences, a school and recreation areas within the distance to endpoint, with a total of 322 people being affected. General Accident Release Prevention Program and Chemical Specific Prevention Steps: This facility complies with EPA's accident prevention rule and all applicable federal, state and local codes and regulations. This facility is annually inspected by in-house personnel and by the Iowa Department of Agriculture. Five-Year Accident History: We have never had an accident involving anhydrous ammonia that caused death, injuries, property or environmental damage, evacuations or shelterings in place. The Emergency Response Program: In the event of an emergency involving our anhydrous ammoina facility, it is our policy to notify the Woden Fire Department and request that they respond to the emergency.
