The accidental release prevention and emergency response policy.  This facility complies with all requirements for NH3 storage and it is our policy to adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local laws.  If an emergency were to occur, it is our policy to notify the Bazine Rural Fire Department and request that they respond to the emergency.        A description of this facility and the regulated substances handled.  Cooperative Grain & Supply Company of Bazine, Kansas is an agricultureal retail business which sells fertilizer to crop producers in the area.  The NH3 plant consists of one 30,000 gallon and one 18,000 gallon tank with a total capacity of 210,000 pounda.  Our employees who work in the area are trained each year on proper safety procedures and practices.      The alternate case scenario for this facility.  If the largest tank should rupture, a total of 132,000 pounds would be released in a toxic cloud with a distance to endpoint of 2.5 miles affecting nearly 315 local  
patrons.  Public receptors include a school, residences, a park and the downtown area.      Five Year Accident History.  We have never had an accident involving NH3 that caused deaths, injury, property or environmental damage or evacuations.      The emergency response program.  This companies Emergency Response Plan has been shared and discussed with the Baine Rural Fire Department and they have agreed to be our first responder in the event of an emergency involving our NH3 system.  Members jof the fire department inspect our NH3 facility annually.     Safety improvement is an on-going process at the Cooperative Grain & Supply Company of Bazine, Kansas.  Periodic evaluations are performed to assess the maintenance of safe conditions.  There are no additional specific NH3f safety recommendations for implementation at this time.
