Farmers Union Grain Co. of Edgeley, North Dakota is a 60 year old farmers coop which buys farmers crop production and provides inputs for that crop production. One of those inputs being anhydrous ammonia. Farmers Union Grain has never had an accidental release of anhydrous ammonia, but has an accidental release prevention and emergency response policy, which is coordinated with the Ellendale, North Dakota Fire Department. Farmers Union Grain plans to upgrade equipment and provide training for employees to prevent accidental releases. We have planned for and have coordinated with local emergency responders to adequately respond to all accidental releases we perceive may occur from a simple hose break to the release of the entire contents of the single largest tank.
