choice to our customers worldwide.  Sunny Fresh Foods
stakeholders produce value added egg products utilizing
liquid
egg in either whole, white or yolk form.  We carry a
full line of liquid egg products.

The Sunny Fresh Foods, Mason City, IA facility is a brand
new facility utilizing the newest in technology in our
refrigeration system and processes.   This facility is
scheduled to start production on December 1, 2000.
Refrigeration equipment is being tested by the contractor
using IIAR guidelines for safe operation of ammonia
refrigeration systems.  All operators, as they are hired,
will take part in refrigeration and emergency response
classes.  These programs will be transferred as a "best
practice" from other Sunny Fresh facilities.

We utilize ammonia in our refrigeration system to control
temperatures of our manufacturing process.  This ensures
that our products are processed and maintained at proper
temperatures inhibiting microbiological growth.  Ammonia is
one of the most widely used refrigerants in the food
industry and is the most effective and environmentally safe
che
micals for keeping food at its proper temperature.  It is
a colorless gas with a strong pungent odor.  The
refrigeration system at Sunny Fresh Foods controls the
temperature of product in holding tanks, pasteurizing,
cooler and blast freezer warehouse, and production rooms.

Sunny Fresh Foods has calculated a worst case scenario
involving a failure of our high pressure receiver causing
6240 pounds of ammonia to be released over 10 minutes.
This would have a predicted impact of nine tenths of a mile
and potentially affect 1149 people and businesses around the
Sunny Fresh Foods, Mason City plant.  An alternative
scenario would be a failur of a pressure relief valve
resulting in a release of 18,000 pounds over 10 minutes.
This would have a predicted impact of three tenths of a mile
and potentially affect people and businesses surrounding the
plant.  These calculations were derived from the EPA's "Risk
Management Program Guidance for Ammonia Refrigeration".

If a release
should occur, Sunny Fresh Foods will work in
conjunction with local Emergency Response Hazmat Team to
handle the release.  The local fire department is involved
with our Mason City facility.  On site responders will be
trained as they are hired and drills will be conducted as
the team is formed.
