1. Facility Policy; The owner's,management,and employee's of Trotter fertilizer are committed to the prevention of any accidental release of anhydrous ammonia. If an accidental release should occur, the facility is prepared to work with the local fire department, and other authorities, to mitigate any release and minimize the impact of the release to person's and the environment. 
2. Facility Information: Trotter Fertilizer is a small independant retail facility for plant food and crop protection chemicals. Anhydrous Ammonia is received, stored and distributed for direct application as fertilizer for crop production. 
3.The worst-case release scenario and alterntive release scenario. 
   a. The worst-case scenario would be the release of the total contents of the storage tank over a 10 min. period. the distance to the endpoint would be 3.3 miles. 
    b.The alternative release scenario would be to break a transfer hose. The distance to the endpoint would be .3 miles. 
4. Accidental Releas 
e Prevention Program: This facility has implemented the provisions of OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.1200 Hazards Communication. 
5. Five-year Accident History: There have been no reportable accidental rleases of anhydrous ammonia in the last five years. 
6. Emergency Responce Program: The "Emergency Action Plan" of Trotter Fertilizer describes procedures to minimize hazardsto human health and to the environment form sudden releases and non-sudden releases of anhydrous ammonia. Ccopies of the well organized easy to use color coded "plan" have been distriuted to the Local Emergency Planning Committe, Fire Department and two stategic locations at the facility.Our employee's are aware of the provisons of the emergency action plan and each one's role in carring out the plan. An on going safety training and accident prevention programs  is our first line of defence. 
7. Planned Changes to Inprove Safety: Saftey inprovements are an on-going procees at this facility. Periodic evaluations are preforme 
d to assess the maintenance and safe condition of our equipment.There are no specific anhydrous ammonia safety recommendations at this time.
