The City of Lenoir Lower Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant has developed accident release prevention and emergency response procedures as part of the OSHA required Process Safety Management of Highly Hazardous Chemicals program. All plant personnel have received all relevant chlorine specific safety training. Chemical inventory and material safety data sheet information have been filed with the local emergency management planning officials. Inspections of the plant have been requested and completed during the past year by consultants with the North Carolina Division of Occupational Safety and Health.
