| Accident History | Chemicals | Emergency Response | Registration | Source | Executive Summary |

Spanglers Flour Mill employs chlorine gas in the process of flour production for pH adjustment and micro control.  CL2 containers are located in separate housing (building of its own @ 800 ft3) with climate control and exhaust fan (1 min turn around).  Cylinders are situated with value side to garage sized door to the exterior to avoid confine space and for added employee safety.  All piping is seamless schedule 80 and is hard piped to the vaccum side of secondary valve which is vaccum actuated.  The primary valve is electronic.  Tanks are hooked up with pnuematically operated on-off valve attached to head valve and interlocked electronically to (2) two CL2 sensors.  A sensor in the tank area will discontinue the flow of CL2 when >5ppm is sensed by closing pnuematic valve.  Sensor in process area will do the same and in addition to the sensor actuate alarm at panel.  Once CL2 is stopped, low pressure alarms are sounded.  Training is annual provided by supplier.  Hazwopper training to b
