The Accidential Release Prevention and Emergency Response Policies at Your Facility: This facility complies with NFPA-58 requirements for LP-Gas storage, and it is Perfect Fit's policy to adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Should an emergency occur, it is our policy to notify the Richfield Volunteer Fire Department and request that they respond to the emergency.

A Description of Your Facility and the Regulated Substances Handled: This facility manufactures mattress pads, custom comforters, and quilts. We use propane as a fuel for bonding ovens in the plant. The propane system consists of one 30,000-gallon tank and associated piping, valves, and other equipment.

The Worst-Case and Alternative Release Scenarios: Our worst-case scenario is failure of the tank when filled to its greatest capacity (88% by volume at 60F), resulting in a vapor cloud explosion. The resulting distance to the endpoint extends off site, and public receptors are within the distance to the e
ndpoint. Our alternative release is a break in a 2-inch diameter pipe, leading to a 10-minute release and explosion. The resulting distance to the endpoint extends off site, and public receptors are within the distance to the endpoint.

The General Accidental Release Prevention Program and Chemical-Specific Prevention Steps: This facility complies with EPA's accident prevention rule and all applicable state and local codes and regulations. The propane system is designed, installed, and maintained in accordance with NFPA-58 and state law. Employees are trained on written procedures to ensure that they have sufficient knowledge and skill to operate the system safely. Our system is routinely inspected by qualified outside parties and all necessary maintenance is conducted by qualified contractors to maintain the mechanical integrity of the system

Five-Year Accident History: We have never had an accident involving propane that caused deaths, injuries, property or environmental damage, eva
cuations, or shelterings in place.

The Emergency Response Program: In the event of an emergency involving our propane system, it is our policy to notify the Richfield Volunteer Fire Department and request that they respond to the emergency. We have provided the Fire Department with information relating to our propane system, including the quantity stored and the location of the tank.
