This facility complies with NFPA-58 requirements for LP-Gas storage, and it is our policy to adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local laws.  If an emergency were to occur, it is our policy to notify the Combat Center Fire Department for response to the emergency.  If additional services are needed mutual aid agreements exist with the Morongo Basin Fire Department and the San Bernardino County Sheriff Department.

Camp Wilson is the exercise support base for military training.  We use propane for space and water heating in the field laundry.  The heating system consists of three 2,000-gallon propane tanks and associated appurtenances, piping, regulators, valves, and burners.

Our worst-case scenario is a failure of one 2,000-gallon storage tank when filled to the greatest amount allowed (88% at 60F), all the liquid propane evaporates, and the resulting vapor cloud explodes.  Since this facility is located in a remote, unoccupied area, the worst-case scenario would not affect a
nyone beyond the Camp.

This facility complies with the USEPA accident prevention rule (RMP) and California Accidental Release Prevention Program (CalARP).  The propane system was designed, installed, and is maintained in accordance with NFPA-58.

We have never had an accident involving propane at this facility.

In the event of an emergency involving our propane system the procedure is to notify the Combat Center Fire Department and have them respond to the emergency. The propane system has been inspected by the fire department.
