B.C. Rogers Processors - Executive Summary |
The Risk Management Program for B. C. Rogers Processors located at the Morton, Mississippi facility is written to cover an ammonia refrigeration system. Our sytem includes three engine rooms used to cool a storage freezer and two engine rooms used for the manufacturing of ice. We have several process controls and mitigation sytems in place as outlined in the RMP. Monitoring systems are planned for future process upgrades. Refrigeration operators and supervisors are trained by certified sources both in the classroom and out on the job site. A thorough Management System Plan is in place and will continue to be revised as necessary to further ensure that the process remains in control. Should a spill occur, all emergency activities are outlined in the B. C. Rogers Emergency Response plan. All activiites are coordinated with the local fire department and the Scott County LEPC. In addition, we have on-site personnel trained to handle minor emergency spills. Future plans for the refrigeration system is to further increase the operating efficiencies, remove non-working equipment, and continue to improve the training and daily operating procedures both for the Risk Management Program and the OSHA Process Safety Management Program. |
