The Jones Blair Company believes in being a responsible corporate citizen.  We are a member of NPCA,  
(National Paints and Coatings Association) and participate in their COATINGS CARE Program.  
 
Each company that agrees to participate in the Coatings Care(r) program is required to commit to the program's policy statement. As participants, each company pledges to:  
* promote efforts to protect employees, customers, the public and the environment;  
* provide relevant information on the safe use and disposal of industry products to customers and make such information available to the public upon request;  
* make protection of health, safety and the environment an early and integral part of the organizational planning process;  
* comply with all legal requirements that affect operations and products;  
* be responsive to community concerns; and  
* assist governments in the development of equitable and attainable standards.  

Jones Blair has in place a structure to protect our employees an 
d the public.  Our response procedure to emergencies is spelled out in our 'Emergency Planning and Operating Procedure Disaster and Communication Control Plan'. 
 
The plan covers; 
 
- Responsible company representatives and contacts, including 24hr telephone numbers. 
- Procedures for Corrective Actions. 
- Emergency Equipment. 
- Evacuation. 
- Regulatory and local Emergency Agencies to be contacted, (National Spill Response Center, TNRCC, Fire Department, etc.). 
- Disaster and Communication Control Plan 
 
The Plan covers the following Emergencies; 
       Fire 
       Spill Control 
       Terrorist Threats, (Bomb, etc.) 
       Weather, (Tornadoes) 
In the 'Emergency Planning and Operating Procedure Disaster and Communication Control Plan' Plant layout, including locations of storage tanks, (contents and quantity) local emergency providers, (Fire department, Hospitals, etc.).  
 
In the Spill Control section, procedures for handling and transferring of liquids are outlined, including tank cars and tank wagons. 
 
 
As  
part of Jones Blair's continuing commitment to safety, we have had and will continue to hold monthly Safety Meetings devoted solely to Safety and Regulatory topics.  The meetings covers subjects from Hazcom to CPR training to actual hands on training with fire extinguishers.  The majority of the training is presented by outside personnel, e.g. local Fire Department, Paramedics and other qualified trainers. 
 
Jones Blair also seeks out reviews of storage and handling practices for chemicals that require unusual storage and handling requirements.
