The Hunter Grain Co., a farmer owned cooperative, is located in East Central North Dakota.  Part of our business is to serve the local area as a retailer of propane and agricultural anhydrous ammonia.  Our goal is to provide  these products to our patrons in the safest possible manner.  Employee and enviromental safety are of the utmost concern.  Our facilities are or will be in compliance with all regulations that apply. 
                                                                                                                                                                           All anhydrous handling and storage equipment will meet ANSI K 61.1 and the North Dakota Anhydrous Ammonia Standards by 8-99.  Yearly manditory training on safe handling proceedures is provided to employees. 
 
All propane handling and storage equipment meets NFPA 58 regulations.  The Hunter Grain Co. is a member of the North Dakota Propane Gas Association and employees attend training sponsored by the 
association on a regular basis. 
 
The Hunter Grain Co. has never had an accident related to the storage and handling of ammonia or propane.  However, it should be noted that accidental releases can happen at any propane or ammonia facility.  Our company is always on the look out for ways to improve the safety of handling these products.  Equipment and proceedures that improve the safety of handling these products are implemented as they become available. 
 
The Hunter Grain Co. has Emergency Response Plan in place in the unlikely event of an accidental release of ammonia or propane.  SARA Tier II forms are filed with all the proper local, state and federal agencies on an annual basis.  The local fire department has full access to our facilities for training purposes in the .event of a release and training is done on an annual basis. 
 
The Hunter Grain Co. wants to assure the public at large that handling and storing propane and ammonia is safe, provided:  1)  employees are extensively tra 
ined in safe handling proceedures regularly.  2) safe handling proceedures are updated as needed and strictly followed.  3) all handling and storage equipment are well maintained and updated regularly. 
 
Our company annually spends a great deal of time, money and resources to assure the safe handling and storage of these products in an environmentally friendly manner.
